How to restore your temporary email inbox
An address can be reopened when you still have its credentials and its email provider still accepts the account. temp-mail.dev remembers credentials on the device where you created the inbox.
Reopen a saved inbox
Use the same browser and device, open temp-mail.dev, and select the saved address from the sidebar history. Inboxes that were open previously restore automatically when the provider is reachable.
If an inbox is offline, wait and open it again from history. A temporary connection error does not mean its credentials have been deleted.
Move to another browser or device
In Settings, export your accounts as JSON before clearing site data or changing devices. Keep the export private: it contains mailbox passwords. Import the file in Settings on the new device.
You can also choose Login Existing and enter the email address and password. Use the correct provider for legacy accounts. An email address alone cannot recover an inbox.
Why a saved address may stop working
Browser storage, account availability, and message retention are separate. Clearing site data loses this device's credentials; upstream account deletion or domain changes may prevent delivery even if you kept a backup.
Download messages you need to keep. A temporary inbox should not be the only recovery address for an important account.
